What Makes You Happy?

I was meaning to write this post about two days ago when I had witnessed something that was quite---I don't know---revolting (?). I was itching to get this done when I got to work, but lo and behold, my boss decided to be a total ass and watched my every move---virtually, that is. It sucks when you're not in the same office as your dictator and still he manages to squeeze the shhh out of you.

Now back to the topic: What makes you happy? For some people it's intangible things, things that are neither seen or touched, but felt. It may be the feeling of achievement after reaching the nth level of Tetris Battle or the satisfaction felt after defecating (SO SUE ME! Some people do feel relieved and satisfied after dumping the shhhht. Literally.)

I have seen happiness written over other people's faces. For some, it's finding the best bargains in a thrift shop. Trust me, I know of one who actually skipped dinner because he could not get over his thrift shop finds! Shallow as it may be, it still made him happy. A friend of mine enjoys geocaching, which is something I still don't understand. From the photos I've seen, it's merely getting sweaty and dirty while finding things you can't ever use. You might ask yourself, why the eff does this make her happy? I've asked myself the same question. It may look retarded (no offense intended here), but hey, she enjoys it.

On my Facebook news feed, I often see photos of food. Everyone loves food! Even the anorexics do---they're just too proud to recognize that. Personally, whenever I nomnomnom down something that excites my taste buds, I feel the endorphins run around my very being. Yes, food makes me happy. Is it not apparent?

Music makes people happy too. No matter which genre you prefer, you know your kind of music makes you feel the calm you are looking for. Right? One particular colleague likes music that sounds like that of a whale caught on a SONAR device. IT FREAKIN' DISTRACTS ME FROM MY WORK! But who am I to put an end to his joy? Who am I to cut through that satiated smile and dreamy look? Who am I to be selfish by wanting to go about work at peace? WHO AM I?
There is a wide range of things and emotions and people that make us happy. It may be someone, something, some place, some time, an event, a memory---anything!

Now tell me: What makes you happy?
