About a month ago, my sister-in-law dragged me to this eyelash salon in SM City Cebu. We had our eyelashes extended. It was cool because the difference is quite catchy and noticeable, but not the scary type though. The lashes we got weren't Lady Gaga-ish or something like that.
The salon's name is iLash Eyelashes Salon. It is located at the SM North Wing. If you know where Salon de Rose is or Paint It! (I think that's what it's called; it's where you buy those little figurines and paint them, blah), all you have to do is turn left (given that you're facing the North Wing) and look for that small boutique right across the lounge chairs/waiting area.
They have a wide range of eyelash thickness and fullness options available on their catalog. They assess your natural lashes and decide what type of synthetic lashes would be best for you. What I got was the Small Fine lashes, just to enhance mine a little bit. I have no plans of scaring anyone with peacock eyes.
Here's a photo of what my eyes/eyelashes look like before I got "lashed":
Please disregard the puffiness and overall ugliness of my eyes. |
Before the procedures are done, you will need to sign a waiver which says that you were properly informed and educated as to what stuff will be done on you. The piece of paper ultimately says that they have nothing to do with anything that happens to your eyes or eyelashes after the procedure because you are an adult endowed with sound judgment and that vanity and beauty has a high price to pay (if you go blind or whatever, heaven forbid). They also tell you that the glue used is surgical glue (I am not sure what they mean by that though) and the lashes are synthetic, made of plastic, and could not be treated as regular hair in any way. This means more hassle whenever you wash your face, etc.
After all formalities and legalities are settled, you are ushered into the salon itself where there are about 10-14 lounge chairs available. You are made to lay there and close your eyes. The procedure goes on for about 45 minutes to an hour (I slept during the entire thing!)
Here's a photo of my eyes after the SURGERY (haha!):
Tadaa! |
Pros:
- You get noticeably beautiful eyes
- No need for mascara
- You get pretty, haha
- The lashes are well "arranged" since they are put in one at a time (note that for every "lash," there are four to five strands)
- Lasts for about three weeks
Cons:
- There's a point during the procedure when you feel a stinging pain, probably because of the glue.
- Time consuming
- The eyelashes are made of plastic, so they hurt when you accidentally rub your eyes
- You need to take extra care when washing your face
The price for the one I got is Php580. They actually do an assessment first before you know which one to get, so basically, the price will vary from person to person. They also do retouching of the lashes, but again, they would have to check and see how many "lashes" are missing.
You can visit them at SM City Cebu North Wing (I'm lazy. I will let you know the details, I promise).
