Back in the day when YouTube was nonexistent, I remember waiting all day for Hanson videos to be played on MTV. My mother, father, and uncles were in on the whole Hanson thing as well. Whenever they saw anything Hanson-related on TV, they would call me (frantically). I even remember falling down a flight of stairs because I was in such a hurry to catch them.
Bruised knees and sprained ankles---this is the culprit!
Watching their videos was the best feeling ever. I had an uncle record the videos for me on VHS! Yes, there were no DVDs at the time. Well, at least I'm not that old to be growing up around Betamax tapes and noisy rewinders, but I do admit I've had my share of that. :)

Google Images wasn't up at that time as well, so the only access we kids of the '90s had to photos of our beloved idols was through magazines. Week after week, I checked on my savings so by the time the new edition of the BOP or BB magazine was out, I could easily bring myself down to National Bookstore and afford a copy of my own. I wouldn't have to wash dishes for an entire week because I had the money. Wise ass.
MTV was a lot better during the '90s as well. They played songs and had shows that were actually worth watching. And the shows were a lot better too. Who here remembers "Saved by the Bell," "Hang Time," "7th Heaven," "Boy Meets World" "3rd Rock from the Son," and "Daria"? I enjoyed every single second of those shows. I swear! I wish they'd do re-runs.
Boyband wars were everywhere! I remember girls fighting over who is prettier, Nick Carter or Justin Timberlake---right outside Redemptorist Church! For the love of God, girls! Respect. If you were one of those girls, I swear I'd still hate you until now. It was a good thing that I was never really into dancing boys. I don't know. It just feels so freakin' wrong. Can you watch "Quit Playin' Games with My Heart" today and not puke? Well, if you can, that's some tough gut you have! I commend you for that.
And Sweet Valley! Who would ever forget Sweet Valley? I had to really hide some books under the shelves of the school library just so no one could take the book out while my library card was still full for the week! I had to change library cards about thrice or four times in a single school year!
And oh! Chinese Jackstones were uber in! The prettier your jackstones were, the more popular you got. And what about stationery? Barter! It would be best if you had Lisa Frank items because that was the most "pricey" among all stationery. What else?Oh, NBA cards! If you had the hologram type, you're popular.
I could go on with all the really fun stuff we did back in the '90s, and I admit I had a wonderful time growing up! Nothing beats the '90s. If you don't agree, get out of my blog and die!
