I know what I want for my birthday: the Strong Enough to Break DVD + CD. This is Hanson's documentary on their struggle toward independence and how they had to deal with giant recording companies who were pulling them down and sucking them of their inspiration and music. Strong Enough to Break also happens to be my favorite Hanson song. Why? The lyrics, yo. It's so . . . me.
Over coffee, tissue paper, and shawarma rice, I had watched this documentary several months ago. I watched this on YouTube, in the office, during graveyard shift.

I cried so hard during this documentary that I had to run to the restroom and compose myself (like the time I learned Hanson was coming to Cebu, when they arrived in the Philippines, when Taylor was interviewed on "Bandila," and when I was accepted to the Hanson Street Team - Cebu---yes, I'm crazy like that).
While I have watched the documentary and such, I still want to get my hands on the DVD (it has over 60 hours of deleted scenes and interviews, yo!) The problem is I don't have $25 plus shipping (~$15 for international ground). It sucks, sucks, sucks! But hey, life is good, you know. :)
Someday, somehow, I will get my hands on this baby. |
I guess my birthday gift will have to wait. If this doesn't pass for a birthday present, then I can settle for this being a Christmas gift. :)
